We had the opportunity of ask to the surrealist photographer Ted Craig. A conceptual artist located on the Southern of California is sponsored by Tamrac Inc. He first worked briefly at New York and later move out to California.
Now is actually working in his fourth edition of the project named "alphabet: four" that consist of making sequence of different photographs, where each one reflects a word with a initial of a different letter of the alphabet.
"To describe this image I will essentially describe myself. We live in a society of social media and a cluster of images of what people are eating, or what their dog is doing. I feel that it has become easier to have one image among trillions that will easily be overseen or forgotten very quickly.I create images that express recognizable passion behind them and am personally attached to. I want to stop people as they are scrolling down their page, slow down their life for a few seconds, and have them feel some kind of personal connection to that image. "

Hemos tenido la oportunidad de hacerle algunas preguntas al fotográfo surrealista Ted Craig. Un artista conceptual, actualmente ubicado en california y patrocinado por Tamrac Inc. Él primeramente trabajó por poco tiempo en Nueva York y luego se mudó a California.
Acrualmente esta trabajando en su cuarta esición del proyecto "alphabet: four", el cual consiste en crear una secuencia de diferentes fotografías, donde cada una refleja la deficnición de una palabra, con la cual con la primera inicial va creando el alfabeto.
"Para describir esta imagen, me describiría esencialmente a mi mismo. Vivimos en una sociedad redes sociales y un conjunto de imágenes de lo que la gente está comiendo, o lo que su perro está haciendo. Siento que ha llegado a ser más fácil tener una imagen entre los billones que fácilmente serán olvidadas o gastadas rápidamente. Yo creo imagenes que expresan una reconocida pasión detrás de ellas y a las cuales estoy personalmente atado. Quiero que las personas detengan la página mientras la están bajando como si nada, detener sus vidas por unos pocos segundos y hacer que sientan alg'ún tipo de conexión personal."
How do you became a photographer?
I became a photographer to enjoy life and its beauty. Since I have become a photographer colors are brighter, light is more engaging, and a sense of freedom has overwhelmed my existences. There is much to see in this world and that right there is a beautiful thought.

¿Cómo te volviste fotográfo?
TC: Me convertí fotográfo para disfrutar la vida y la belleza. Desde que me volví en un fotográfo los colores son más brillantes, la luz es más atractiva, y ese sentido de libertad ha abrumado mi existencia. Allí hay tantas cosas que ver en este mundo, justamente allí está un hermoso pensamiento.

What do you like about photography?
TC: I love the ability of creating something using photography. A painter has his brushes, and a carpenter has his tools to create something beautiful. A camera is my tool and I live to create
everyday.

¿Qué te agrada de la fotografía?
TC: Me encanta la habilidad de crear algo utilizando la fotografía como medio. El pintor tiene sus brochas, el carpintero sus herramientas para crear belleza. La cámara es mi herramienta y vivo para crear.
TC: With surrealism there isn't any limits. I will let the right side of my brain take over and have my hands try to keep up. I always reference a painter with his blank canvas, I simply can make anything my heart desires.

Trabajas realmente bien con el surrealismo, dándole un buen concepto a las fotografías, mostrando toda tu parte imaginativa. ¿Qué te hace crear este tipo de trabajo?
TC: Con el surrealismo no existe límite alguno. Yo podría dejar el lado derecho de mi cerebro tome el control de mis manospara mantenerlas creando. Siempre tengo de referecia a un pintor con su lienzo blanco, yo simplemente puedo crear cualquier cosa que mi corazón desee.

What is your vision about photography? What is your goal with the photography?
TC: "To make a dent in the universe"-Steve Jobs. I would love to do surrealism photography for the rest of my life. Fame is good and all but photography is such a personal craze and really enjoy finding, and breaking my limitations.

¿Cuál es tu visión acerca de la fotografía? ¿Cuáles son tus propósito con la fotografía?
TC: "Para dejar una marca en el universo"- Stev Jobs. Yo amaría el poder seguir haciendo fotosurrealismo por el resto de mi vida. La fama es agradable, pero la fotografía es como una manía personal, disfruto mucho descrubrirla y romper mis limitaciones.

What is your message to the world?
TC: Best move I made was taking my passion and making it my life. Do what you absolutely love and never forget why you chose to do that.

TC: La mejor movida que he hecho, fue tomar mi pasión y volverla mi vida. Hacer lo que amas y jamás olvidar por qué elegiste eso.
